Ginger Rice and Cumin with Sweet and Sour Seitan

ingredients

Arroz ORIENTE Longo Extra
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (or olive oil)
  • 2 tablespoons ginger (cut into thin strips)
  • 3 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  • 3/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 cup of Oriental rice
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 250g of seitan
  • 1 tablespoon of corn starch
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1/2 lime juice

To serve:
1 small broccoli cabbage
2 tablespoons chives (chopped)
1 tablespoon of sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. In a pan put the oil, ginger, garlic and cumin. Let it fry for about 2 minutes and then add the rice. After 2-3 minutes add 2 cups of hot water and the salt. Cover and let the rice cook for 10 minutes.
  2. Cut the seitan into cubes. Add the cornstarch, a pinch of salt and pepper to the seitan. Shake well.
  3. In a non-stick frying pan, put a drizzle of oil and the seitan. Let it fry for 3-4 minutes. Then add the garlic, sugar, soy sauce and lime juice. Stir well and let it cook for a few more minutes.
  4. Serve the ginger and cumin rice with the seitan and cooked broccoli. Finish with chopped chives and sesame seeds.
