Agulha Rice Porridge with pomegranate and hazelnuts

ingredients

Arroz ORIENTE Longo Extra
  • 1/2 cup of Agulha Oriente Rice (110g)
  • 1 cup of hot water (125g)
  • 2 cups of almond vegetable drink (or milk)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 anise star (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • Zest of 1/2 orange

Toppings:

  • 1/2 pomegranate
  • 4 tablespoons of hazelnuts

Preparation

  1. In a pan, place the rice with hot water. Let it cook over low heat for about 8 minutes.
  2. Add the vegetable drink, sugar and spices (cinnamon stick, anise and vanilla). Let cook until the rice absorbs almost all the liquid (another 15-20 minutes)
  3. Using a hand blender, lightly grind the rice porridge. Add the orange zest and mix with the remaining ingredients.
  4. Serve with pomegranate seeds and roughly chopped hazelnuts.
