Ingredients

Agulha Pampa - Arroz Oriente
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon sweet pepper (or paprika)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric (Turmeric)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (dry chili)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of Oriental rice
  • Parsley to taste (for serving)

Preparation

  1. In a pan put the chopped onion and oil. Let it cook for about 2 minutes and then add the chopped garlic and spices (sweet pepper, turmeric, cumin and chilli flakes).
  2. Add rice and salt. Let the rice cook for about 2 minutes.
  3. Add 2 cups of hot water, cover the pan and cook over low heat for about 10 minutes.
  4. Serve with fresh chopped parsley to taste.
